  hello friends,.

  after receiving a letter at my home calling me for a "judicial audience" after having quit 5 years ago the jw, i decided to go to the police and talk about the policy within jw.org: social abuse, judicial threats and in my case sexual abuses.. a national newspaper in spain www.elperiodico.es has decided to give visibility to this situation.

  update on mouthy (grace gough)this is graces granddaughter.

  i wanted to send an update that today my beautiful grandmother passed away - surrounded by friends and family.

  - may 22 1927 - sept 2nd 2016. mouthys_granddaughter.

  My deepest sympathies. Her story & posts on here have made a profound effect on many people (including myself). She was one of a kind.

  And I hope her estranged relatives were able to give her some peace of mind and love before her passing.

  Low Day For Me Today

  hi guys.

  it's been about 4 or 5 weeks since i was disfellowshipped.

  so far it's been easy, i enjoyed being left alone, no one bothering me, no one telling me i need to do more, need to reach out, questioning why i didnt go on the ministry, and the fact that my ex-wifes family cant talk to me even if they wanted to.

  If you truly intend to get reinstated, I think you need to stop posting under this name. You got df'd because you were busted by relatives for posting on here right?

  The situation is horrible. I hope you find true friends and leave these phonies behind.

  Try Other Religions

  sometimes i get a strong curiosity to start dabbling into other religions, other faiths, you know?

  really different ones such as islam, judaism, hinduism, etc.. has anyone here looked into something else?

  has your spirituality been satisfied by any other than christianity?.

  I'm happy to see this post. I feel something lacking in my life and would like to find something to believe & practice.

  I can't worship the God of the bible (see: http://www.scribd.com/doc/95804194/A-Most-Evil-and-Stupid-Book-The-Bible-s-Moral-Depravity-Contradictions-and-Absurdities#download). So even though Christianity is a good story, the old testiment God is full of hate & anger and I can't reconcile them.

  Yet I feel something missing. They say religious people are healthier, happier and live longer. But where to turn after being so heavily indoctrinated against all these other faiths?

  Has anyone tried New Age and or Science of Mind? I've been dabbling in their beliefs for almost 2 years. But I have an internal fight every time the speaker says & proclaims things as facts with no backing or proof. As a JW, every doctrine & belief had a scripture to back it up (yes I now know they were twisted to meet their needs, but I still could look at the bible and say "this is why we believe what we believe".   "Gerson Therapy" in Tijuana, Mexico

  since at least back to the 1960s in canada, jws have been travelling to mexico for cancer treatment.

  and, i believe, other medical treatments.

  because i watched my uncle die of cancer back in 1962, unable to receive treatment because the doctors couldn't operate without blood, i have always been curious as to why the jws with cancer were going to mexico.

  It's Hoxsey that has the Canadians flocking to Mexico (at least in my part of Canada). I know of many people who swear by it. They feel it cured their cancer.

  And then there are those that are not alive. I can think of a few of those too. Although some had exhausted their options with traditional medicine and when to Mexico as a last resort. So they may have been unsavable with any course of treatment. IDK. I have mixed feelings about it. I know western medicine isn't the be all to end all though.

  earlier in the week someone posted the potential value of the jw website based on visits and if they used advertisements.

  many stated they would never do that but i propose they could.. besides their real estate profit making business model, they have the conventions as cash generating machines.

  they give directions to their members to which hotels/motels to use.

  135 years of Watchtower magazines there was not a single advertisement in it.. there won't be any on the website too

  Does anyone have a scan of the Awake that came out after 9-11 where they are basically patting themselves on the back for making sure their brothers are alive, while not doing anything to help others?

  
  

  There was a placement of a logo/small square box for the New York Time or one of the NY dailies. Then the same publication was quoted in the articles. I was absolutely sure it was a quid pro quo deal (run our ad or don't use our quotes). 

  
  

  I was still somewhat in at the time, but it definitely got my attention as I considered it an advertisement.
